Brian Bo, Bergur, Karsten and Jesper are confined in the Danish state prison in Vridsløselille. They all have their individual criminal story, but they share the singing in the prison choir. When meeting their charismatic choirmaster Louise Adrian the bad boys with the soft voices are inspired to write their own songs. Through the poetry they talk of their destinies and tell the depth of their thoughts and dreams. The prison choir is a breathing space in an otherwise harsh and enclosed world. Even after being released most of the prisoners continue being active in the choir and sing courageously their personal stories at concerts all over the country. The music shows new ways and makes them feel like giving up their criminal career – but it is a long and tough way. The Prisoners' Choir is a film begins where most detective films end.
