What happens to a society where 3% of the women have been raped during war? Despite increasingly refined war tecnology mass rape is still taking place in modern combat. This is exactly what took place in Bosnia, during the war from 1992-1995. Almost twenty years after these crimes, atonement is the passion of politicians while 40.000-50.000 women who were victims of mass rape are still isolated with their despair and agony. During court trials rape is not prosecuted as a separate crime - but dealt with as the least significant war crime acts. As a result, only a very few cases of war crimes of sexual violence have been investigated and prosecuted. It is this judicial dilemma that our film will question. The rapes remain a heavy, dark shadow in the lives of the women enshrouded by taboo, on both a personal and political level. For these women legal justice is the only hope to regain integrity and life.
